Joining @MichelleObama and @BarackObama, the White House now has its own official Pinterest account.
After just a few days (the official White House blog posted about the new account on Saturday), @WhiteHouse44 has a few less than 7,000 followers.
Michelle, by comparison, has nearly 50,000 followers, and the president has almost 40,000.
Pinterest's most popular posts tend toward style, design and food, all of which the White House does well. However, as of Monday afternoon, the account had posted just one pin: an invitation to a White House social, gathering social media followers in Washington for an "in-person meeting of people who engage with the White House through social media."
The White House blog also notes that the first pinboards will be rolled out Monday, December 17, the same day as the social.
