Springfield finally puts a bird on it.

It's surprising that "The Simpsons" has taken this long to spoof hipsterdom, but the long-running show has at last devoted an entire episode to the kitsch-loving, PBR-drinking subculture known for wearing ironic t-shirts and making your local thrift store finds so obscenely expensive. In "The Day the Earth Stood Cool," Springfield gets a makeover from newbie hipsters who roll into town on Vespas and in vintage RVs. They turn "Sprawl Mart" into "America's Apparel" and Springfield Elementary School into a co-op. For extra cool points, the Decemberists stop by as the school's new music teachers, while "Portlandia's" Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein play Homer's new hipster friends.
