Ricks, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and blogger for Foreign Policy appeared on Fox News Monday morning to discuss the Obama administration's response to the September 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. When Ricks accused the network of "operating as a wing of the Republican Party" and "hyping" the attack, the anchor abruptly cut the interview short. "I think Benghazi was hyped -- by this network especially," Ricks said to the anchor.
