Though he appears in "The Expendables 2," Sylvester Stallone's clown car of action stars, Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn't headlined his own film since he became governor of California in 2003.

Enter "The Last Stand," an action film starring Schwarzenegger as a border town sheriff, and former LAPD officer, who combats a drug cartel leader on the run to Mexico. Forest Whitaker, Rodrigo Santoro, Johnny Knoxville, Luis Guzman, Zach Gilford and Harry Dean Stanton round out the cast.

Taglined "Not in his town. Not on his watch," "The Last Stand" trailer promises plenty of high-octane car chases and serious staredowns.

In an interview with NDTV Movies, Schwarzenegger said he's happy with his return to acting:

"One day Tom Cruise was filming and he was in a harness hanging upside down in a fight scene and I was saying, 'I'm so happy I don't have to hang in this harness upside down doing this fight scene over and over! I'm happy being governor and I can't even imagine doing that again.' And then a few years later after I said that that I'm on the movie set and I'm having the greatest time."
