Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Young Boys beat Juventus 2-1 in the Champions League group stage, partially due to Cristiano Ronaldo getting in the way of a teammate's shot. Juventus suffered the setback on Wednesday at Stade de Suisse in Bern, Switzerland. The Serie A squad is still onto the round of 16, despite the loss.

Guillaume Hoarau put Young Boys ahead 1-0 with a penalty kick in the 30th minute. The home squad carried the one-goal lead through the halftime whistle before Hoarau struck once more.
Moumi Ngamaleu tapped the ball up to Hoarau on a breakaway to begin the scoring sequence. Hoarau tracked down the feed and sprinted to the top of the box before blasting a shot into the left side of the net with his left boot in the 68th minute.
Ronaldo then helped Juventus get on the board by assisting a Paulo Dybala shot. That score came with Ronaldo tapping a ball back for his teammate. Dybala used his first touch to blast a 20-yard shot into the right side of the net in the 80th minute.
Dybala should have had another score later in the match, but Ronaldo denied it by being called for offside. The near-equalizer occurred in stoppage time. Federico Bernardeschi sent in a corner kick to begin the sequence. The feed swung out and was deflected to the feet of Rodrigo Bentancur. Bentancur first had his shot denied, but he gathered the rebound and passed it beyond the box to Dybala.
Dybala crushed a shot from about 25 yards out. Sending it blazing over a crowd and into the left side of the net. But the equalizer was denied as Ronaldo stood in an offside position and attempted to head the ball.
"It's never nice to lose but let's put it this way: we've chosen the least damaging games to do so," Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri told Juventus.com. "We had two objectives, progressing from the group and finishing in first place. We have achieved both and deserved it. Now we focus on the Turin Derby."
Juventus battles Torino at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Turin, Italy.
