Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A former member of Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel detailed accused drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's explosive temper during testimony Monday.

Jesus "Rey" Zambada Garcia told jurors Guzman ordered the killing of Rodolfo Carrillo Fuentes -- the brother of Juarez Cartel leader Vicente Carrillo Fuentes -- after the man snubbed him on a handshake.

"When he left, Chapo gave him his hand and said, 'See you later, friend.' Rodolfo left him standing with his hand extended," Garcia said. "Chapo was really mad."

Rodolfo Carrillo Fuentes was later killed while leaving a movie theater with his family.

"When he was coming out of the movies. He was coming out with his family, his wife and his children," Garcia said. "Rodolfo Carrillo died, his wife did, too, and [a judicial police] commander was seriously injured but survived afterwards."

The killing sparked a war between the two formerly allied cartels. Vicente Carrillo Rodolfo allegedly ordered to have Guzman's younger brother Arturo Guzman killed in prison as a retaliation.

Garcia also testified about the slaying of a judicial police commander, identified only as Rafita, in 2008.

He said the man was considered one of "the most important targets in the war" as a top sicario employed by Arturo Beltran Leyva.

Garcia said the Sinaloa Cartel followed the commander for several days before staging a fake car accident to lure him out of his home.

"They had [staged] a simulation saying one of his kids had been in an accident heading to school," Garcia said. "They sent [a sicario] to tell him his son [was hit]. Rafa ran out to look for the boy, and that's when he was killed. The boy didn't even realize it had happened he just went to school."
