Will Smith teams up with Joel Edgerton in second trailer for Netflix's 'Bright'

Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Will Smith is an LAPD cop who is partnered with an Orc in the second trailer for Netflix's upcoming fantasy thriller, Bright.

The clip, released Wednesday, features Smith and Joel Edgerton who portrays the first Orc to join the LAPD, patrolling the streets of Los Angeles as they deal with a mixture of street gangs and supernatural beings.

Things get complicated once the crime fighting duo run into a powerful, magical wand that has fallen into the wrong hands.

"Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time, Bright is genre-bending action movie that follows two cops from very different backgrounds," reads the synopsis.

"Ward (Will Smith) and Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it," it continues.

Directed by David Ayer (End of Watch, Suicide Squad) and written by Max Landis (Chronicle), Bright is set to arrive on Netflix on Dec. 22.
