The Chicago White Sox reinstated All-Star left-hander Chris Sale from the suspended list and he will start Thursday's game against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Sale was suspended for five days last Saturday after tearing up the 1976 throwback uniforms the team was scheduled to wear in that night's game against the Detroit Tigers.
Sale, who is 14-3 with a 3.18 ERA, has publicly expressed that he has no regrets with his actions.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura said on Wednesday that he doesn't anticipate any issues related to Sale's return.
"I think it's going to be fine," Ventura said. "Players always have their teammates' backs and that's no different with our clubhouse.
"I think it's going to be fairly normal when he comes in as far as he's going to be prepared to pitch and our guys are going to get prepared to play and it's going to go from there."
The White Sox optioned pitcher Anthony Ranaudo to Triple-A Charlotte to open up the roster spot.
