Turkey beats back an attempted military coup (24 images)

Thousands flood the streets of Istanbul and pray for the dead as they rally in support of the government following a failed coup on July 16, 2016. Turkish authorities said they had regained control of the country after thwarting a military coup against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that claimed more than 250 lives.
