The conflict between Israel and Hamas enters its fifth month with Israeli bombs falling on Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. At least 14 people were killed as airstrikes hit several residential buildings on February 8, 2024. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a hostage-release proposal the day before and vowed to press on.
