Protesters clash with police in Hong Kong (34 images)

Protests in Hong Kong continued into an 18th week on Tuesday, as mainland China celebrated its National Day. A high school student protester was shot by police. The weekend before, more than 100 demonstrators were arrested. Some demonstrators threw bricks and petrol bombs and set fires in the streets while police fired tear gas and pepper spray at the crowds.
