King Charles III, Britain's newest monarch, has given his first state address at the opening session of Parliament, marking the first king's speech in 70 years. Charles, born in 1948, ascended the throne at age of 73 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022. Here's a look back at his time as the longest-serving heir apparent in British history and as king.
