Japan marks 80th anniversary of Battle of Okinawa (10 images)

Japan held a memorial service Monday at Peace Memorial Park in Itoman, Okinawa, to honor the 200,000 lives lost in the Battle of Okinawa. Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba attended the ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the battle’s end on June 23, 1945.
