Ceremonies marking the 75th anniversaries of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings were held in Japan. An American B-29 Superfortress dropped the first bomb, killing about 75,000 people during World War II on August 6, 1945 in Hiroshima. Three days later, a second atomic bomb was dropped in Nagasaki, killing 8,500 people.
