Fight over egalitarian prayer space at Jerusalem's Western Wall(15 images)

Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men push back against female members of Reform and Conservative Jewish groups who are fighting for an egalitarian prayer space at Jerusalem's Western Wall.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government approved a measure on January 31 which would provide state recognition and funding for another area near the Wall for pluralistic prayers. However, after Ultra-Orthodox members of his government threatened to leave the coalition, Netanyahu backed down on the proposal.
