Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Protesters opposed to the current Thai government occupied the Finance Ministry Monday, as they continue to try and topple the government of Thai PM Yingluck Shinawatra.
About 100,000 protesters gathered to demonstrate against the Shinawatra family. Yingluck's younger brother Thaksin was accused of corruption during his stint as prime minister a few years ago.
These are the largest demonstrations since April 2010 when Thaksin's party tried to remove the Democrat Party from power. This time the demonstrations are being rallied by the Democrat Party.
"If even one of you still serves Thaksin, you will have us to reckon with," Suthep Thaugsuban, a former deputy prime minister and rally leader said to the crowd.
"We have stood by silently while her [PM Yingluck Shinawatra's] brother calls the shots and she runs the country into the ground with loss-making policies," said protester Suwang Ruangchai.
