Israeli Defense Forces called the raid "proactive activity" and said, "Suspects threw stones and explosives, set tires on fire, and launched fireworks at IDF soldiers."

No soldiers were hurt.

An Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades Telegram account indicated Jarad was a fighter in that group.

The IDF said Palestinians reacted to the military raid by blocking roads and firing on Israeli occupation soldiers and troops fired on them killing Jarad and wounding the others.

On Tuesday the Israeli Army destroyed the home of a deceased Palestinian in the Askar camp near Nablus. Abdel Fattah Hussein Kharousha was suspected of killing a soldier and his younger brother.

In July the IDF killed a Palestinian man they said opened fire after the man's car was stopped in the West Bank. No troops were hurt.

In June four Palestinians were killed and dozens hurt during an Israeli military raid on the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.
