May 16 (UPI) -- Actress Zara Phythian, known for roles in Marvel's "Doctor Strange" and 2022's "Accident Man 2," was sentenced to eight years in prison for sexual abuse of a teenage girl, a British court ruled Monday.

Phythian and her husband, Victor Marke, were both found guilty last week in Nottingham Crown Court of abusing a teen between the ages of 13 and 15 as well as indecent assault of another young girl.

Marke, 59, was handed a 14-year sentence for his role in the crimes after a two-week trial, giving the couple a combined 22 years in prison on 14 counts of sexual activity with a child.

The alleged abuse started when the child was given rum and asked to play a game of "dare" involving the child joining Phythian and Victor in a sexual act, it was heard in court.

The actress reportedly denied any sexual contact with the child.

However, the victim could describe the Chinese calligraphy tattoo Phythian has near her private area.

Nottingham Crown Court Judge Mark Watson told Marke that he regarded him as the "driving force" behind the abuse that allegedly occurred between 2005 and 2009, adding that he believed the abuse was pre-planned, according to Sky News.

"You were clearly aware of this first incident, but pretended to be asleep," Watson said, as reported by Sky News.
