March 19 (UPI) -- Mexican authorities are maintaining a yellow alert warning after eruptions at the Popocatepetl volcano occurred on two of the last three days.
A new eruption began spewing Monday night, sending ash nearly a mile into the air and spreading incandescent material within a 1.6-mile radius, El Sol de Cuernavaca reported. Smaller eruptions occurred early Saturday.
