June 18 (UPI) -- Dutch police arrested a man Monday for driving his van off the road and into four people at the end of a music festival in the Netherlands.

The small van struck concert-goers at the PinkPop music festival in Landgraaf -- killing one person and critically injuring three. The van was found hours later, abandoned. The suspected driver was arrested a short time later.

Police identified the suspect at a Monday news conference as a 34-year-old man from nearby Heerlen, who worked as a volunteer at the festival. RTL Nieuws reported Gilles Boux de Casson turned himself in to Amsterdam police.

Those injured include a 30-year-old man, a 26-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, officials said.

Daniele Weymar of the Amsterdam Public Prosecutor's Office said the suspect will be transferred to Landgraaf and charged with manslaughter and attempted manslaughter. She did not identify a possible motive or say why he drove to Amsterdam to surrender.

The crash happened at the end of the three-day festival, which featured singer Bruno Mars as its closing act and attracted about 45,000 people.

Authorities did not say whether they believe the crash was intentional or an accident.

Belgian and German police were involved in the search for the van, as it occurred near the Netherlands' borders with each nation and carried Belgian license plates.
