No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

The bombing took place while Nangarhar's governor, Hayatullah Hayat, was meeting Taliban members visiting the governor as part of its three-day Eid ceasefire set to end at midnight Sunday, according to CNN.

The three-day agreement was meant to work along with a 10-day ceasefire declared by the Afghan government for Eid al-Fitr, the celebration of the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

On Saturday, at least 26 people were killed in another suicide bombing in in Nanggarhar. The Islamic State, which isn't part of either ceasefire agreement, claimed responsibility for the attack.
