April 7 (UPI) -- Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Saturday he plans to begin his 12-year prison sentence for corruption after defying a court order to turn himself in to federal authorities.
He told supporters Saturday outside the headquarters of the country's metalworkers union building he plans to surrender.
