Dec. 11 (UPI) -- A Canadian man was given a two-year suspended sentence for threatening to "blow out" Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's brains in an online post. The sentence was handed down after Derek Hurrell, 34, pleaded guilty in June to one count of making the threats earlier this year, the CBC reported.

In May, Hurrell, who hails from Borden, Saskatchewan, went on the Heaven's Hellions Facebook page, which describes itself as "an organization formed to support our communities, neighbours, veterans and citizens from a government that has overlooked the needs of the people," and posted his incriminating thoughts about the Canadian leader.
"I just want to take a gun, put it to Trudeau's [expletive] head and blow his [expletive] head off... it would be a public service to Canada," he wrote, according to CTV.
Hurrell's defense attorneys said he has issues with mental health and has drug and alcohol problems.
"I just want to apologize for everything I've done," Hurrell said at the sentencing hearing.
Hurrell is not allowed to possess firearms or be within 500 meters of Trudeau.
He is also forbidden to use social media.
