Dec. 3 (UPI) -- No injuries or damage were immediately reported Sunday morning after a 6-magnitude earthquake struck along Ecuador's west coast.

The temblor struck shortly after 6 a.m. with the epicenter located about 12.5 miles northeast of Bahia de Caraquez and 20 miles northwest of Chone, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter was located at a depth of 15 miles.

Local officials said they have not issued a tsunami warning and no casualties were immediately reported.
