Nov. 24 (UPI) -- A report of shots fired at a London Underground train station led to panic and a stampede on Friday, but responding police said they found no evidence of gunfire.
People hurriedly left the Oxford Circus underground station in central London and ran into Oxford Street, a busy retail area crowded with Black Friday shoppers, pushing and tripping each other. Area businesses briefly shuttered their storefronts, and officials shut down the train station and adjacent Bond Street station.
