Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Ivanka Trump, the daughter and senior adviser of U.S. President Donald Trump, arrived in Japan on Thursday for a three-day visit ahead of the president.
At the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Ivanka Trump will deliver a speech at the World Assembly for Women to discuss women's participation in the economy and entrepreneurship.
Trump will be joined by 60 other representatives from political, business and international organizations in Japan and overseas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan said the conference will focus on creating "a society where women shine."
Later on Friday, Ivanka Trump is scheduled to have dinner with Abe.
The president is scheduled to arrive in Japan on Sunday, accompanied by first lady Melania Trump.
Donald Trump and Abe will have a working lunch, play golf and hold talks.
"Both leaders affirmed the importance of promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific region and maintaining close coordination between the United States and Japan, and with the international community, to maximize pressure on North Korea," the White House said of the leaders' talk about the trip on Tuesday.
The president's Japan visit is part of a 12-day trip to Asia.
