Oct. 29 (UPI) -- A USB stick containing high-level security information details of London's Heathrow airport was found on the street by a pedestrian, according to reports.

The Sunday Mirror first reported that the USB stick was found and that it contained information about Queen Elizabeth's route at the airport and security measures used to protect her, timetables for police patrols to guard against potential suicide bombers and terrorist attacks, and other security information for one of the world's busiest and most important airports.

A spokesperson told CNN that airport authorities are looking into the potential security breach.

"We have reviewed all of our security plans and are confident that Heathrow remains secure," the spokesperson said. "We have also launched an internal investigation to understand how this happened and are taking steps to prevent a similar occurrence in future."

The Sunday Mirror reported that an unemployed man found the USB stick when he was walking to the library to look for work.

"I was curious about what it contained so a few days later, when I went back to the library, I plugged it into the computer. All these files were there. I couldn't believe it," he told the newspaper.

The Heathrow spokesperson insisted that safety and security is the airport's "top priority," according to Sky News, adding: "The UK and Heathrow have some of the most robust aviation security measures in the world and we remain vigilant to evolving threats by updating our procedures on a daily basis."
