Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Russian authorities said they arrested a couple from the Krasnodar territory after they found a cellphone with photos of dismembered body parts.

The couple, a 35-year-old man and his wife, were detained after a road construction crew found a cellphone Sept. 11. It contained photos of a man appearing to pose with a dismembered female body, the Investigative Committee of Russia said.

Police raided the couple's residence, a dormitory at the military aviation school where the man worked, and found body parts stored in saline solutions. They seized frozen meat and other food fragments found in the kitchen to test whether they're human.

"During the inspection of the scene of the incident on September 12, a package and a bucket containing parts of the deceased's body were found, as well as a bag with things," the press officer for local authorities told Interfax.

Authorities also found fragments of bodies in the building's basement and adjacent courtyard.

Police said the male suspect said he accidentally found the remains of the body, took the pictures and then lost the mobile phone.
