Met police arrest third suspect in London tube attack

Sept. 19 (UPI) -- London's Metropolitan Police on Tuesday said they arrested a third suspect in connection with the bombing of London's Underground train.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man whose name wasn't released in Newport, Wales, Met police said in a statement. They were carrying out a search an an address in the town.

Police launched a manhunt Friday after an explosion rocked a crowded London subway car during morning rush hour. The blast occurred as a train left Parsons Green station and caused a fire that swept through the subway car.

No one was killed in the attack, though dozens were injured.

On Saturday, police arrested an 18-year-old man in Dover and a 21-year-old man in Hounslow.

"This continues to be a fast-moving investigation. A significant amount of activity has taken place since the attack on Friday. We now have three men in custody and searches are continuing at four addresses. Detectives are carrying out extensive inquiries to determine the full facts behind the attack," Cmdr. Dean Haydon, head of the Met Counter Terrorism Command, said.
