Aug. 10 (UPI) -- The Israel Security Agency, or the Shin Bet, said security forces on Thursday arrested five Palestinians suspected of attempting a terrorist attack in Jerusalem.

Israeli news outlets reported the five suspects arrested in the West Bank village of Eizariya were en route to Jerusalem to carry out an attack before they were detained by the Shin Bet, Israel Police and the Israeli Defense Forces.

Israel's Channel 10 news reported the five suspects were armed and all left behind suicide notes in their homes in the West Bank area of Hebron, according to Israel National News.

Israel Police said the suspects will be interrogated. Security officials said the suspects were part of a "ticking time-bomb" terror cell.
