May 22 (UPI) -- An Indian woman has climbed Mount Everest twice in less than a week -- a woman's record for the fastest double ascent. Anshu Jamsenpa, 37 and the mother of two, reached the 29,028-feet summit in Nepal on May 16 and five days later Sunday, tourism official Gyanendra Shrestha confirmed to BBC Nepali.

She reached the peak the second time at 8 a.m., Dawa Lama of Dream Himalaya Adventures confirmed to The Economic Times in India.
The current Guinness record for a female's double ascent is seven days by Nepalese climber Chhurim Sherpa in 2012. Jamsenpa will need to contact Guinness World Records to register her climbs after they have been certified by Nepal's ministry of tourism.
Jamsenpa, who is from the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, has climbed the mountain twice before in a short time. In 2011, those ascents were 10 days apart. She also scaled the mountain in 2013.
Her husband, Tsering Wange, told the BBC she has always wanted to do a double ascent twice, but her efforts failed in 2014 because of an avalanche and in 2015 because of an earthquake in Nepal.
She was blessed by Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama before leaving for the expedition.
Last week, Nepali climber Lhakpa Sherpa scaled the peak for the eighth time, breaking her own record for most summits by a woman.
More than 120 climbers have made the summit this season.
Four climbers died over the weekend, including an American man.
