SEOUL, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Kim Jong Un visited the newly built Ryongaksan Soap Factory, in yet another sign the North Korean leader is choosing to stay away from military sites since Pyongyang conducted its fifth nuclear test on Sept. 9.

Kim has in the span of a month visited various factories manufacturing civilian goods, including a medical device production plant, a bottled water plant, and a souvenir factory, according to Yonhap.

The North Korean leader has also visited a newly built eye clinic.

Pyongyang's state-controlled news agency KCNA reported Saturday, local time, Kim gave field guidance at the soap factory and told workers that they should "provide an abundant and happy lifestyle for the [North Korean] people as soon as possible, so that they have not a thing to envy in the world."

Kim also said "the [North Korean] people must firmly reap the benefits of an operation that, by continued great effort, strengthen the material, technical foundations that improve the people's lives."

He had named the soap factory in June and ordered workers to complete construction by Oct. 10, the anniversary of the founding of the Korean Workers' Party.

Kim said he was pleased with the results, although it is unclear whether construction was completed on deadline.

Kim was accompanied by senior official Hwang Pyong So, political director of the Korean People's Army, O Su Yong, vice chairman of the Korean Workers' Party's central committee and An Jong Su, director of North Korea's light industry department, according to KCNA.
