At least 13 civilians were killed and 14 more injured in the strike in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, Afghan officials said.
"We sent a commission to investigate whether civilians were killed in the attack," said Hazrat Hussein Mashriqiwal, a spokesman for the provincial police.
But U.S. military officials have not confirmed the deaths of civilians in the strike.
"U.S. forces did conduct one counter-terrorism airstrike in the area on Wednesday," said Brig. Gen. Charles Cleveland, a U.S. military spokesman. "We are aware of some claims of Afghan casualties, and are currently reviewing all materials related to this strike. We are continuing to look into these allegations and will provide additional information as appropriate."
