TOKYO, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck early Wednesday in the sparsely populated Izu Islands southeast of Japan's main island of Honshu, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was 6.1 and hit around 1:21 a.m. in Japan with its epicenter about 382 miles south-southeast of Tokyo at a depth of 6.2 miles.
