GAZA, July 2 (UPI) -- Israeli officials said they launched airstrikes that hit four militant sites in the Gaza Strip on Saturday.

According to Voice of America, Israeli officials said they targeted sites belonging to Gaza's militant Hamas rulers but no injuries were reported in either Gaza or the Israeli town of Sderot.

A workshop, two locations for Hamas's armed wing and a military training site for militant group Islamic Jihad were targeted by the strike with two sites located in Gaza City and two more in Beit Lahia, a security official told Daily News and Analysis India.

Israeli officials said the airstrikes were prompted by an earlier attack in which Hamas militants fired rockets into southern Israel and struck a kindergarten.
