CHANGI, Singapore, June 26 (UPI) -- A Singapore Airlines plane caught fire as it made an emergency landing and Singapore's Changi Airport. All passengers and crew were evacuated without injury.

The Boeing 777-300 left Changi headed for Milan at just after 2 p.m. on Monday but was forced to turn around about two hours in to the flight due a fuel leak, a passenger told the BBC.

As it touched down in Changi, the flames began coming out of the right engine fire. The airport's emergency services immediately arrived to put out the fire.

All 222 passengers and 19 crew members were able to leave safely, the airline said in a statement.

"Passengers disembarked through stairs and were transported to the terminal building by bus. Passengers will be transferred to another aircraft which is expected to depart for Milan later today," the statement noted.

"Singapore Airlines will be co-operating fully with the authorities in their investigations."

Video of the fire was shot by passenger Lee Bee Yee, who posted it on Facebook.
