PARIS, April 27 (UPI) -- Paris terror attack suspect Salah Abdeslam was extradited from Belgium to France to face charges for his alleged role in the deaths of 130 people, French prosecutors said Wednesday.

Abdeslam, 26, a Belgian-born French citizen, arrived in Paris just after 9 a.m. Wednesday, prosecutors said. He was scheduled to appear in court later.

Belgium authorities said he was transferred under a European arrest warrant dated March 19. Belgian police arrested him in Brussels the day before, after a four-month manhunt.

Paris prosecutors in France will likely call for Abdeslam to remain in jail while he awaits trial for his alleged role in the killing of 130 people on Nov. 13 in Paris. Some 350 people were also injured in the attacks.

Belgian authorities also charged Abdeslam last week with attempted murder for his alleged role in a Brussels shootout with police days before his capture.

Abdeslam's transfer to French authorities comes a day after footage appeared of his brother blowing himself up at the Comptoir Voltaire restaurant on the night of the Paris attacks.
