SEOUL, March 11 (UPI) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered more nuclear tests after watching a ballistic missile launch Friday, the state news agency reported.
The report comes days after the United Nations approved sanctions on North Korea in response to its nuclear testing in January.
"(North Korea) should prepare itself to be able to launch a nuclear attack on enemies on the ground, in the air and on and under the sea through diversification of delivery tools of nuclear warheads," the North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.
Kim reportedly told military leaders to carry out additional nuclear tests "to estimate the destructive power of the newly produced nuclear warheads and other tests to bolster up the nuclear attack capability."
North Korea has threatened to launch attacks on the South and the United States as the countries continue their joint military drills. The North accused the U.S. and South Korea of using the drills as a preparation for an attack.
Thursday, the North fired two short-range ballistic missiles off the east coast of South Korea.
