SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- About 33 buildings collapsed during a landslide at an industrial park Shenzhen, China, where at least three people were injured and 81 remain missing.
About 900 people were evacuated. Four people were pulled out from the rubble with minor or no injuries. No fatalities have yet been reported.
Shenzhen's local fire brigade said it was working to free other trapped people amid the more than 1 million square meters of debris. The soil reportedly had been dug and piled up nearby in the past years as part of construction work.
A pipeline exploded hours after the collapse, reportedly in a gas station. About 1,500 firemen, police and health workers are at the scene. More than 90 fire engines, 13 rescue dogs and four drones were deployed.
"I saw red earth and mud running towards the company building," a witness told Xinhua. "Fortunately, our building was not hit, and all people in our company were safely evacuated."
