81 arrested in Spain child pornography sweep

MADRID, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Spanish law enforcement arrested 81 men and boys across the country in a widespread crackdown on Internet child pornography.

Among those arrested were two minors and two who are considered mentally disabled, the national police said. Thousands of images and videos were seized, including some that were "extremely harsh" with content featuring minors and "sadism or bestiality," police said.

More than 300 agents from Spain's judicial police participated in raids across 28 provinces. In addition to thousands of images, investigators seized computer and video cameras. In total, 80 homes were searched. Police confiscated 96 hard drives, 58 computers, 68 flash drives, four tablets, 195 CDs and DVDs, 18 mobile phones, 25 memory cards, among other pieces of electronics.

More arrests are expected.
