Seven dead in suicide blast at Pakistan election office

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- At least seven people were killed Wednesday in a suicide bomb attack at an election office in the Dera Ghazi Khan district in Pakistan.

The explosion took place at noon at the office of Amjad Farooq Khosa, a member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Khosa's personal guard said he was not at the office when the bomb went off. The Times of India reported Khosa was in Pakistan's capital of Islamabad at the time.

First responders said three people were hospitalized in critical conditions after the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Police were investigating the incident.

The Times of India cites eyewitnesses who said two attackers drove into Khosa's office and detonated the bombs. Approximately 40 people were inside the office at the time of the blast, and a PML-N leader was among those killed.
