PYONGYANG, North Korea, May 20 (UPI) -- Kim Jong Un has slammed the "incompetent" management of a Pyongyang turtle farm after it failed to breed lobsters.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency reported Tuesday that the North Korean leader was displeased with his tour of Taedonggang Terrapin Farm, where workers were also meant to have started a lobster breeding program.

Kim, who is shown wagging his finger at employees in official photos from the visit, described the farm as the "manifestation of incompetence, outmoded way of thinking and irresponsible work style."

He also chastised workers for their apparent lack of reverence for his father and predecessor, Kim Jong Il.

"It is hard to understand that the farm visited by Kim Jong Il did not arrange even the room for education in revolutionary history," Kim said, according to KCNA. "The employees who failed to bear deep in their minds his leadership exploits could hardly perform their role as masters in production."

Terrapin soup is considered a delicacy in North Korea. It is said that Kim wanted upcoming feasts to feature both terrapin -- a kind of freshwater turtle -- and lobster.

The report of Kim's visit to the farm comes a week after he ordered the execution of his defense chief, Hyon Yong Chol, who allegedly fell asleep during an official event.
