DELHI , India, April 7 (UPI) -- Air India has grounded the captain and deputy of a passenger jet over a dispute inside the cockpit.
The state-run airline described the incident as a "minor argument," which took place shortly after take off from Jaipur.
But sources told the Times of India that the co-pilot "beat up" the captain over an inflight procedure.
"The commander told his co-pilot to take down critical take off-figures for the flight," the source said.
This involves writing critical facts like number of passengers on board, take-off weight and fuel uptake on a small paper card that is displayed in front of the pilots for the entire duration of the flight. The co-pilot took offense at this and reportedly beat up the captain.
An airline spokesman said the two pilots have "settled the issue."
