DONETSK, Ukraine, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- A civilian bus was hit with a shell, killing 10 and injuring 13, near rebel-controlled Donetsk, according to Ukraine's Interior Ministry.
The attack happened 22 miles southwest of Donetsk near the town of Volnovakha. Rebel leaders deny involvement in the attack that happened near a military checkpoint.
"It was a direct hit on an intercity bus," Vyacheslav Abroskin, head of the Donetsk regional interior ministry, said. He also said the rocket appeared to have been fired at a road block, but changed course.
