PENTLAND FIRTH, Scotland, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- The British Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has suspended their search for the crew of the cargo ship Cemfjord that recently capsized off the coast of Scotland, and the eight missing crew members were not found.

The ship was carrying cement, traveling from Denmark. No distress call was picked up. A ferry spotted the capsized ship on Saturday.

"The search has been suspended, so there are no more resources searching for the missing men. We are now in the investigation phase," said an MCA spokeswoman. "The area has been completely saturated [by the search and rescue teams] and sadly, no sign has been found of the men, none whatsoever."

Members of the MCA believe bad weather was the cause of the incident.
