Video appears to show Kim Jong Un piloting a plane

PYONGYANG, North Korea, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- New footage released by the government of North Korea appears show leader Kim Jong Un piloting an airplane as it briefly takes off and lands.

Kim, seen behind the controls in his trademark black pants and black outer shirt, is surrounded by at least two uniformed pilots in addition to the camera operator. According to ABC News, he is piloting a Ukrainian-built Antonov AN-148.

It is unclear when the footage was shot, but NBC News reports it was filmed as a part of a television documentary on the controversial dictator.
