CAPE TOWN, South Africa, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Archbishop Desmond Tutu has canceled all travel for the remainder of 2014, one of his foundations announced Tuesday, citing his ongoing battle with prostate cancer.

The Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation did not indicate when the 83-year-old South African luminary and Nobel Peace Prize winner planned to resume travel.

There is no health crisis, said daughter Mpho Tutu, the foundation's executive director. He is remaining at home where he can adjust to new medication, she added.

The archbishop marked the first anniversary of the death of former President Nelson Mandela on Dec. 5 by reminding the public that "Our obligation to Madiba is to continue to build the society he envisaged, to follow his example."
