The large cat was spotted Thursday by a woman in Montevrain, causing town authorities to warn residents to remain in their homes.

The teams tracking the cat said it wasn't a tiger by the tracks it left. They have scaled back the tracking team but there is still a one out searching with tranquilizer guns.
There is no knowledge from where the cat originated. Le Parc des Felins, a wild cat park not far from the sightings, said it has accounted for all its animals.
If the cat is spotted, authorities warn residents to walk, not run away and to seek shelter.
