British banker charged with homicide in Hong Kong to undergo pyschiatric testing

British banker Rurik Jutting, 29, has been charged with murdering two women on Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, after their bodies were discovered in his apartment.

HONG KONG, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- British banker Rurik Jutting, who was charged last week with the murders of two women in Hong Kong, has been ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation.

The prosecution requested the psychiatric tests to determine whether Jutting is fit to enter a plea at his murder trial.

Court was adjourned Monday until Nov. 24. in order for the tests to be completed.

The 29-year-old Bank of America employee was arrested Nov. 1 after police were called to his apartment in the Wan Chai district, where they discovered the bodies of two Indonesian women.

Jutting is accused of killing 25-year-old Sumarti Ningsih on Oct. 27 and stuffing her nearly decapitated body into a suitcase on the balcony. Seneng Mujiasih, 29, was found in the one-bedroom apartment with her throat slashed. Police believe she was killed on Nov. 1.
