NEW YORK, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Osama bin Laden's son-in-law Sulaiman Abu Ghaith was sentenced to life in a U.S. prison Tuesday for conspiring to kill Americans and providing material support to terrorists.

Abu Ghaith was convicted of the crimes in a Manhattan court in March after a three-week trial and six hours of deliberations over two days by an anonymous jury.

Abu Ghaith was a little-known Kuwaiti preacher until he appeared in a video sitting next to his father-in-law after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
